The Swedish Russian-baiting – Russophobia –
Is not a new phenomenon although it is now personified by the traitor and russian-hater Carl Bildt. No, it has deeper ancestry than that. Already in the 1200s Birger Jarl attacked the Russian Novgorod State and was defeated by Prince Alexander Nevsky in the Battle of the Neva (whence also Alexander got his “surname”). On the 16- and 1700s Swedish kings ravaged Poland and Russia until Charles XII was defeated by Peter the Great in the Battle of Poltava. Already then some local Cossacks tried to betray their country and czar under the chieftain Mazepa, while others remained patriotic and fought against the invaders, just as today in the Donbass and in Novorossiya. In the 1800s it was time again, with the same failed result as before. This time the Russians retaliated by raiding along the Swedish Baltic coast and in addition, Sweden lost Finland to Russia. Note that in all cases except one, it has been Sweden who have gone on the attack against Russia and then Russia has counterattacked and defeated the invaders. These repeated historical losses are the basis for today’s almost institutionalized russophobia in Sweden. The rulers have since that time gratefully made use of “the Russians” as intimidation items in their propaganda, and the Swedish people have, unfortunately, for lack of objective information, become the victim of this propaganda. There is hardly any Swedish leader who has been fairly pragmatic, objective or neutral in relation to Russia. Maybe Olof Palme is an exception, but even this is doubtful. Carl Bildt, however, took the opportunity to make big money in Russia, doing shady business in the days during the catastrophic Yeltsin era, without shame. This hypocrisy is only surpassed by himself when he rub shoulders with the Nazis in the Kiev junta and calls them “harmless nationalists”, despite all evidence to the contrary. But then he is from a family of Baltic Russian-haters with dim past.
The Swedish press, TV and radio, yes all the mass media has fallen into unison chorus of Russia’s detractors as unintelligent parrots, without shame, without thinking and without caring if they deliberately lie to the Swedish people. Articles emerge “on order” from these uncredible gossip-media constantly, where, it is “explained” with adult voice to the people that they should detest Russia and the Russians, that they are dangerous, undemocratic, etc. And woe to him who opposes the media’s lies – he is immediately branded as “Putin-Agent”, “old-communist”, “national-fascist” and so on. Media always manage to timely dig up some Russian oppositionist describing how “bad” everything is in Russia. It’s not that hard to find such people, especially not against payment, in a country of 145 million inhabitants. That these people are null and void in their home country and are regarded as charlatans is of course not mentioned. That the country’s president has over 85% popular support is “explained” our “objective” media with “the Russians do not know their own good” or “they are all deceived, and do not know the facts”, unlike the “all-knowing” Swedish media from abroad.
Our fake mass media have a great responsibility when they deliberately mislead and lie to the Swedish people and thus foment hatred against a neighboring people of 180 million (including those who do not currently live in Russia). Getting the Russians hatred with mother’s milk, as “poor” Carl Bildt is one thing, but getting it through misinformation and lies of the media is a tragedy for Sweden and the Swedes and it’s serious too. Fortunately, there is no corresponding “swede-phobia” in Russia, however, the Russian mass media and the Russians in general begin perceive us as ridiculous, gullible turncoats due our media and our politicians silly russophobia , and this is not good for our future relationship. Thus, one can safely say that it is the media and the politicians who perpetuate the russophobia and hatred in Sweden. This is likely on foreign masters orders – just look at the ownership in Swedish media outside TV1, TV2 and SR. Look also at these quantities of former “exile” eastern Europeans who have penetrated Swedish newspaperoffices and are allowed (and even encouraged by the owners) to spread their loathsome russophobia and their lies in the newspapers unchallenged. The fact that they make Sweden a disservice they do not care about at all. It’s time for the Swedes to wake up and realize that the threat to our national sovereignty does not come from the east!
